The challenge was to stand out as the most mature organization in the New Space industry, leading the market forward and setting an example for others to follow. Their goal was to introduce a standardized product to the market, showcasing the maturity gained through years of experience, expertise, and rigorous testing.

An established leader in pioneering advancements, NanoAvionics boasts a proven track record filled with “firsts”: launching the first microsatellite, pioneering video streaming in space, and deploying the first 16-unit satellite with a sophisticated Earth-monitoring payload. As a significant player in the industry, NanoAvionics has observed that while value communication focuses on manufacturing and launch, there is often a lack of transparency regarding what happens after the event. As the industry moves into a new development phase, where business cases have been validated but overall market maturity is still evolving, many are reluctant to discuss early missteps and operational challenges.
Positioning
Working closely with the leadership team, we identified an opportunity for NanoAvionics to take the lead in addressing topics that other players in the industry are hesitant to discuss. Their focus extends beyond successful launches to include the longevity, performance, and reliability of small satellite missions. Additionally, this initiative aligns with NanoAvionics’ vision of pioneering Phase 2.0 in New Space, fostering industry-wide discussions about the challenges faced by clients, manufacturers, and society, including issues like radiation and space pollution. They take the initiative to set the New Space performance standard.
Result
To demonstrate their new positioning as the setter of the New Space performance standard, we facilitated an integrated product launch campaign for NanoAvionics. This campaign included a launch teaser and a live event that not only highlighted their products but also addressed the need for greater transparency in the industry. Additionally, we supported the development of their satellite configuration tool, allowing clients to select the best products based on their preferred parameters thus introducing transparency between both sides.
